Our xTpro has an embedded solar panel which charges the battery with sunlight. Estimated lifespan of this tag is 3-5 years.
Our xTlite does not have solar charging capabilities, however, the battery in the tag lasts roughly 3 years.
The tag searches for a GPS location roughly every 15 minutes and stores those GPS points on the tag itself. Then, the tag will transmit the data to your device once every 24 hours, allowing you to see movement. However, the tag will check in sooner if 1 of 4 alerts is registered (No movement, out of fence, free fall, or high speed).
Through testing, we have found that if you are able to send a text message in the area, our tag should be able to transmit the data to your device. However, data collected by the tag will stay on it until it obtains a connection.
Our xTpro tag is reusable as it is applied like a regular ear tag with a standard applicator. Simply cut the tag off, and apply it to a new animal with a new pin.
However, to meet USDA guidelines, our xTlite has to be tamper proof. With that, the tag is not reusable.
In order to purchase our tags, you must have a confirmed 701x account. If you already have an account, simply log into the 701x Autonomous Rancher app or visit mobile.701x.com.
If you don't have an account, you can sign up by visiting mobile.701x.com.

After logging in, navigate to the Marketplace and add your desired amount of tags to your cart. Complete your checkout and the tags will be delivered to your door!
We are continuously innovating and developing ideas to improve the retention of our smart eat tags.
As with anything you put on or near cattle, they are experts at beating it up. Our xTproâ„¢ tags show the best retention when applied to animals past weaning age when their ears are more developed. They also show strong retention out in open pastures but face some challenges when the animal is in tight quarters because there is more for the tag to catch on. Overall, retention is good; if the tag falls out, you can locate the tag, and reapply.
The xTliteâ„¢ tags have great retention. The best practice is to place the tag inside the animal's ear, shortly after calving. To meet USDA guidelines, our xTlite has to be tamper-proof. With that, the tag is not reusable.
